About Sydney’s research on Low-Dimensional Materials for Radio Frequency Applications:

The growing need for high-capacity wireless communication leads to continued research efforts in developing on-chip inductors that perform well at high frequencies. As such, these devices require higher inductance densities and quality factors in smaller sizes to free up space for other functions. To achieve this, we are exploring ways to increase the high-frequency performance of low-dimensional inductor core materials by adjusting their magnetic anisotropy. My research focuses on synthesizing soft magnetic nanorods with strong shape anisotropy for on-chip integration in communication applications and radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits.

My other research interests focus on exploring low-dimensional magnetic materials for spintronics applications.
